When someone says something good about us, we always show our appreciation for it. This sense of appreciation and acknowledgement shows how we are dependent on other people’s help. Every now and then, we face some problem and look for help. When someone helps us then it is not only our moral duty to be thankful to that person, but it is also our religious obligation to express our thanks to Allah Almighty for sending that person for our help. Following are these ways in which you can become true Muslim and be more admiring towards Allah SWT.
Thinking About His Blessings
If we can think at night what we have achieved during the day, then we should also think about all the blessings we got from Allah Almighty in terms of favor. The very first step that you can take to be a part of gratified people is by reminding yourself of all the favors of Allah Almighty.
Blessings of Allah Almighty are so frequent and abundant that most of us usually use them without taking notice of where they came from. According to Holy Quran:
“And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” [Quran, 16: 18]
Spending in the way of Allah SWT
Charity is one of the five pillars of our religion which not only makes us lose crave for materialistic and worldly health, but is also a way to thank Allah SWT. When we make donations, it purifies our wealth and brings gratitude and humbleness by acknowledging that Allah SWT has given enough to us to fulfill our needs.
Appreciating by the Tongue
Another way to be grateful to Allah SWT is through our speech. We should thank Him for all His blessings by saying Al-Hamdulillah when we use His any favor whether it is small or big. Thanking Allah Almighty for even the smallest blessing purifies our heart and shows us the way of righteousness. Ibn Jabal has reported that Holy Prophet PBUH said:
“The last thing upon which I parted from the Messenger (PBUH) of Allah is that I said to him, ‘Which actions are better and closer to Allah?’ He answered, ‘That you die while your tongue is moist with the remembrance of Allah, mighty is He and majestic.’”(IbnHibban)
As we all know, that Allah SWT not only hears our prayers, but also return it in terms of Ajar either in this world or the world hereafter. Therefore, we should always, thank Him for all the blessings He bestowed upon us.
